MYC Charity Chili Cook-Off and Silent Auction
On Friday February 22, 2019, MYC hosted our 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off and Silent Auction to benefit the Denver Firefighters Charitable Foundation. This year brought 24 chili makers competing for prizes and the honor of being this year’s best chili maker. Prizes were awarded to the following individuals: Ivan and Jen Garcia with their chili named Notorious P.I.G. won the Judges Pick for Best Green Chili as well as the Popular Vote for Best Green Chili; Layla Betts won the Judges Pick for Best Red Chili with her chili named Bettcha Like It; Angie DeBolt won the Popular Vote for Best Red Chili with her chili named Backdraft Beefcraft; and the Most Creative Name Award went to Pete Wybenga with his Red Chili named Hydrant Humper.
This year our silent auction went online, allowing more people to bid on desired items. Through our amazing sponsors, fun-loving attendees, and generous silent auction item donators and bidders, we were able to raise more than $12,000 this year. So, a huge thank you to everyone who braved the snowstorm on Friday evening to join us for this wonderful charity event and thank you to all the Sponsors that believe in this event as much as we do!
