Mark Young Construction, Inc. hosted a charity fundraiser to support the Denver Fire Fighter’s Burn Foundation at CB & Potts

On February 24th, 2017, Mark Young Construction, Inc. hosted a charity fundraiser to support the Denver Fire Fighter’s Burn Foundation at CB & Potts. This fun event challenged cooks to create a chili that could win the favor of attendees and the guest judges. Everyone who attended voted for their favorite by placing a Lego piece in the chili cup of their choosing. The fire fighters were the guest judges and awarded first and second place, with the popular vote being the deciding factor for third place. The winners took home prizes for their hard work. There were 20 chili entries. First place was awarded to Dennis Wolfe from MYC for his Big Ass Elk chili, second place went to Garrett Burrell from MYC for his Chili Wailua, and third place went to Scott Marks from Horizon Reprographics for his Dragon’s Breath chili. There was also a creative chili name competition that attendees voted on and the winner was Pete Wybenga from Europtics for his chili named Hydrant Humper.

The event also showcased wonderful silent auction items to bid on from local companies. Attendees came from all backgrounds of the AEC community and had the opportunity to mingle and network. Kristen Tonsager from Clutch Design Studios said “I was impressed at the quantity of entries; from spicy green chili to traditional red chili – the spice and flavor did not disappoint! What a great event to benefit a great cause!”

MYC would like to thank everyone who participated and attended. Thanks to our amazing chili pot sponsors, the more than 75 attendees, and silent auction sponsors, we were able to hand over $5,417 to the Denver Fire Fighters representatives who were there for the Burn Foundation.

King Soopers #154 Silverstone Marketplace - Frederick, CO
By Angie DeBolt March 8, 2024
MYC began working on the Silverstone Marketplace project in Frederick in January 2024. We are working closely with Evergreen, who is developing roughly 61 acres of land at the northwest corner of Highway 52 and Colorado Boulevard. The development will be anchored by King Soopers #154, along with two multi-tenant retail buildings and eight outer lot retail pads. Current work includes a new collector street along the north side of the project, street improvements along Colorado Boulevard including a new roundabout, and widening along eastbound and westbound Highway 52. MYC also won the King Soopers new build and once the site is ready, we will work on the 123,000 SF building which will not only be the first grocery store in the Town of Frederick, but also the largest grocery store in the Carbon Valley, creating approximately 300 employment opportunities.
