Project Starts
Thornton Police Training Facility and Tri-Lakes Fire Station #1
Last week MYC had groundbreakings for two projects.
Tri-Lakes Monument Fire Protection District Fire Station #1 is a design-build remodel to renovate a free-standing fire station, including renovating 4,000 SF of their existing 8,124 SF facility and a 2,400 SF addition including a new dormitory and fitness area.
The City of Thornton Police Training Facility will serve as the future training
campus for new Thornton Police Department recruits. The 20-acre site and
18,000 SF building consists of a skills pad, K-9 training area, defensive
tactics rooms, simulator rooms, classrooms, office areas, locker rooms,
breakrooms, and a large awards and commemoration display area. This dynamic
pre-engineered structure consists of sloped standing seam roofing, sloped
Kingspan insulated metal wall panels, and the integration of Kalwall translucent
panels and storefront systems.
